I STARTED WORKING ON A NEW SERIES ON WOOD...
CALLED ..."MY HAPPY PLACE"....THEY ARE DRAWN
ON SANDED PINE...WOOD BURNED...THEN PAINTED.
SO MUCH FUN....AS PEOPLE HAVE SEEN THEM ...
THEY EVENTUALLY TELLL ME THIER HAPPY PLACE!
GIVING ME MORE AND MORE IDEAS! SO FUN!

May God bless you Julie Lee. My brother Paul's wife (Rachael) just gave birth to a baby daughter Juliet Jeanne Webster. Not sure what to make of the unconventional spelling. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ keep and protect you, precious Julie. You will allways be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm a Flannery O'Connor scholar. I first learned about you from the Vanderbilt panel you were on with Mary Gauthier, Minton Sparks, and the Over the Rhine couple in Feb 2009-available via YouTube. I'm writing a book about Flannery's influence on contemporary singer-songwriters. I've published a couple of major reference works on O'Connor and of late, two pieces that discuss her influence on Springsteen, and am about to publish a book chapter that adds Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, and Sufjan Stevens to the list.

I see you will be at the Wild Goose festival, which I am hoping to attend. Would you have half an hour for an interview some time over the festival's three days in which you would be willing to chat with me about Flannery's influence on your work?
